Flickr

I love browsing Flickr when I'm bored. There are so many pictures and so many of them are old and weird. I remember look at a really long stream of old cross dressing pictures. It wasn't pornography, just normal people that were dressed in opposite gendered clothing. And all of the pictures were in black and white, some not in the greatest condition. It was so interesting.

I recently found out about Flickr mashups. They let you use Flickr images in new ways.
One I like the the trading card maker. http://bighugelabs.com/deck.php

I made my own. Cool, yea?

My best friend has been living in DC for an internship at the CATO Institute.
On October 30th, Jon Stewart is holding his Rally to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert is holding his March to Keep Fear Alive.
Being a Fake News Fan, this is very exciting. And what better circumstances to travel to DC?

I'm not excited to see the Capitol building or the White House. I'm excited to see the museums. The Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Art.
Anyone have suggestions on places to visit?

Introductory Post

Greetings Blogging world!
For my first post, I will discuss my experiences with my new MacBook Pro.

I have used Windows PC's all my life so there were a lot of habits I had to adjust with my new laptop. I had gotten used to using hotkeys such as Ctrl+T to open a new tab, Ctrl+L to enter a new url, not to mention Ctrl+B and Ctrl+I for word processing.
More of an adjustment was learning the new programs. While I am used to iTunes, Quicktime and use Firefox for web-browsing, I am unfamiliar with iCal, Photobooth, and Garage Band.
I used an online tutorial (http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/) to answer my questions.

As I continue to use the machine I am becoming more and more used to the Mac operations. Now when I use Windows PC's in the library or in class I find my fingers reaching for the Command key!
Perhaps in a few years I'll try out Linux or Ubuntu and learn more about Operating Systems.
